Victims advocate upset over Trump's tone on sexual assault
A Des Moines sexual assault survivor said she is disappointed by President Donald Trump’s remarks in which he mocked a sexual assault victim.
Kerri True-Funk, associated director of the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault, said the president showed a complete lack of respect.
“It's really discouraging when powerful men in our country are saying these things about women that were young and vulnerable and isolated and subjected to violence that they never asked for,” said True-Funk, who is a sexual assault survivor.
When she heard Trump mock Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony in Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination hearings, she was shocked.
