IowaCASA’s new Lending Library Program

If you’ve ever had the chance to be in the IowaCASA office, you know that we have books everywhere. We maintain a library of books for staff and advocates across the state, and whenever we have a little bit of extra money to spend, we often buy a few more. Many of the books we have, we read together, so we can discuss the way that our work needs to shift or change based on the ideas and perspectives we get from our reading. Reading together gives us a common language as we work to build the future we want to see.

For the first time, we are so excited to be able to share our lending library with our whole community, and to help support all of you in having these same kinds of conversations in your families, your workplaces, your schools, your churches, among friends, or with anyone you would like! To look at our entire lending library collection, please click here: https://www.librarycat.org/lib/IowaCASA.

If you see something you’d like to check out, please email us at prevention@iowacasa.org and let us know how many copies you need (up to a maximum of 10), and we will get them checked out and set up for contactless pickup from our office if you are in the Des Moines area, or if you’re not, we’ll mail them right to your home or office.

For more questions about the program, please email KellyMarie Meek, our Coordinator of Prevention and Public Health Initiatives (and excited new librarian) at prevention@iowacasa.org. Happy reading!
