Moral Mondays: Beth Barnhill & Sen. Janet Petersen speak out against sexual harassment in the wa

Generous thanks to the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa for the invitation to have IowaCASA attend Moral Mondays with Senator Janet Petersen.

On Monday, January 29, we spoke out against sexual harassment in the wake of #MeToo, and spoke about legislation that could help prevent or deter harassment. Sen. Petersen also spoke about legislation introduced that would allow the state to seek restitution against legislators and state employees who sexually harass others. Typically, as with the case of Kirsten Andersen against the Iowa GOP, taxpayers have to foot the bill for any kind of financial settlement.
