Sustained Funding:

Hi, my name is [your name] and I am calling to urge Senator [last name]/Representative [last name] to support sustained funding for victim service programs. In 2018 alone, victim service advocates served 17,103 sexual assault survivors. Any significant cuts to victim service programs will create immediate and harmful consequences for survivors. Thank you for your continued leadership, and for supporting sustained funding of victim services.

Female Genital Cutting bill:

Note: We are currently only contacting Rep. Linday Upmeyer (641.357.8807 or 515.281.3221) and Rep. Chris Hagenow (515.274.1652 or 515.281.3221), House Leadership, for this particular bill. The following is the message we'd like to convey to them:

Hi, my name is [your name] and I am calling with concerns about the Female Genital Cutting bill that passed out of the Senate earlier this month. I urge you to put a community education amendment back into this bill. Putting laws into place before educating communities impacted by Female Genital Cutting would cause more harm to already vulnerable populations who have sought refuge in Iowa.
