Spotlight: Tattoo fundraising event recap

To say that the Still Not Asking For It tattoo flash fundraising event hosted by the DSM Tattoo Collective was a HUGE success is something of an understatement.

On June 9, tattoo shops around the world hosted flash events where all proceeds were donated to local and nation organizations dedicated to prevention, recovery, and justice for victims and survivors of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault.

DSM Tattoo Collective did not disappoint, raising over $8,000 for the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Our most generous thank you!

Still Not Asking For It expanded across the country and beyond last year, and is continuing to spread it’s reach even further in 2019. Tattoo shops around the world, as far as England, Europe, Australia, and yes - even Iowa!, hosted flash events in unison on June 9th. More than 55 tattoo shops around the world contributed their time and efforts, offering tattoos for collectors and enthusiasts, with all proceeds going towards the healing process for survivors and criminal justice reform, to ensure that we create more safe and aware communities. The tattoo world united and stood up to say they've heard enough, seen enough, and had enough.

Here are some of the photos from the event in Des Moines. Photos courtesy of Michael Watson and the DSM Tattoo Collective.
