Sexual Violence Prevention: Beginning the Dialogue
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) created this document to begin the conversation on how current prevention efforts work "to modify and/or entirely eliminate the events, conditions, situations, or exposure to influences (risk factors) that result in the initiation of sexual violence and associated injuries, disabilities, and deaths (P.1)".

The Big 9: Principles of Effective Prevention Programs "At a Glance" 
This document briefly outlines the 9 principles of effective prevention programs as follows: Comprehensive; Varied Teaching Methods; Sufficient Dosage; Theory Driven; Positive Relationships; Appropriately Timed; Socio-Culturally Relevant; Outcome Evaluation; and Well-Trained Staff.

IowaCASA Recommended Curricula for Sexual Violence Prevention
IowaCASA's Prevention Education Committee studied and approved researched based curriculums that were developed for youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade. A list and brief descriptions of these curricula are available in this document.

Preventing Child and Youth Sexual Harassment, Abuse, and Assault: A Resource for Iowa's Families
The Iowa Department of Education in conjunction with the Iowa Collaboration for Youth Development created this document as a companion document to the "Preventing Bullying and Harassment: A Support Manual for Iowa's Sample District Policy on Bullying and Harassment". This document was created so that families, communities, and schools can provide general information and resources to help families understand and respond to sexual violence.
